Sat in his kitchen workshop, Sam Lacey makes terrible shoes and tries to sell them online. They are so bad that no-one really wants them, not even his neighbour (who thinks he should give up and get a real job!). Then one night, two tiny visitors climb in through the window and start cutting and stitching and gluing… and Sam’s life is never quite the same again!

Stuff and Nonsense Stuff and Nonsense loves to make energetic, thought-provoking and playfully mischievous theatre productions for children aged 2 upwards and their families. We work with children to create ideas, using the power of great imagination, fantastic puppetry and lots of physical action.

Artistic Director – Niki McCretton an expert in working in early years settings and in inspiring the imagination and creative energy of all ages. She has been creating and touring theatre throughout the UK and Internationally for 20 years and is passionate about making theatre that is just as engaging for parents as it is for children.

Niki McCretton brings an array of theatre making experience, including award-winning National and International tours with Heretic, Throw me a bone, Wormhole, Relative, Space 50, Muttnik, Hoof! and Horseplay. She also brings experience of working with nursery aged children and their staff and with 5x5x5 = creativity, an action learning organisation which places children's creativity and ideas at the core of its work. Niki also performs as a comedian and as a mentor for other artists in the UK.

Performer – Toby Gascoigne Toby has been performing for 6 years. He has worked in TIE with Local Learning in Bristol, which comprises street theatre and radio plays, and has appeared in various plays and performances with The Invisible Circus, also in Bristol. In 2010-2012 Toby has toured the UK and quite a lot of Europe with Ramshackalicious Theatre Company, toured the whole of Spain with The Pocket Oxford Theatre Co. and is now appearing again in The Elves and the Shoemaker with Stuff and Nonsense . Toby is also a percussionist/ musician and finds work with comedy jazz trio The Hot Potato Syncopators and he is currently writing his first solo show.
