Stuff and Nonsense Theatre Company
Stuff and Nonsense Theatre Company was founded in 2000 by respected family theatre maker, performer and puppeteer Marc Parrett. In 2008 he joined forces with renowned children's theatre maker, producer and performer, Niki McCretton. They began to work together to present productions which have all toured extensively across the UK. Now 13 years, several productions and many puppets later, Marc has decided to concentrate on his work for film and television. Niki has taken the helm as Artistic Director of Stuff and Nonsense steering the company into an exciting future for 2014 and beyond.
Since 2001 we have produced and toured two versions of 3 Little Pigs, The Little Red Hen, The Enormous Turnip, The Elves and the Shoemaker and The Hare and The Tortoise across small and middle scale venues. We are very popular at Christmas and often present four or five productions across the UK at once! Even more productions are in the pipeline so visit our website www.aloadofstuffandnonsense.co.uk to see what we're up to and what's coming soon!
As well as running a theatre company, In September 2010, Stuff and Nonsense scraped together every penny we could find and bought a disused theatre in Bridport, Dorset. The Lyric Theatre came complete with exuberant flock wallpaper, snug little office, ballet studio and some friendly pigeons in the rafters. It is now our base for rehearsals, trying out ideas, building experimental things and puppets, as well as place for us and other performing artists to create and present their work.
